Uber’s app will stop UK drivers working excessive hours — Engadget

In the UK Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy Committee hearing today, Uber revealed a step toward driver and public safety that could help it regain British regulatory permission to operate in London. It may limit drivers to 10 to 12 hours of driving work a day.

While discussing employment practices, Uber’s Andrew Byrne was quizzed on passenger safety, at which point he revealed the ride-sharing company is testing a system that automatically logs off drivers deemed to be working excessive hours.
