Ikea’s explorations go so far as selling through Amazon. Will those sales include TaskRabbit assembly? Would that strategy shift Amazon sales requiring assembly to Ikea-TaskRabbit assemblers?

In his first interview since becoming chief executive last month, Jesper Brodin told the Financial Times that future acquisitions could add specific digital capabilities or speed as Ikea seeks to take more risks. “We are just at the beginning — TaskRabbit was the first acquisition we did . . . It’s an important part because we don’t have 10 years to transform Ikea. I think we should think about the one or two or three years ahead to take some radical steps,” he said.
